A crash changes the job. A broken down car usually rolls and steers, so loading it is routine. A crashed car can have a folded wheel, a snapped track rod, a punctured radiator or a bumper hanging on by one clip. From accident damage to seized engines, we recover cars safely, and the difference is in the preparation before the vehicle moves at all.
Our tilt-and-slide flatbeds have low approach angles, so a car with a damaged front end can be drawn up without scraping what is left of the splitter. When a wheel will not turn, skates go underneath first and the winch takes the weight. Glass and debris on the road are swept before we leave, because the next driver along should not pick up a puncture from your accident.
Safety comes before the vehicle. If anyone is hurt, or the car is blocking a live lane, ring 999 first. Once the police or traffic officers are happy for the vehicle to be moved, ring us and give the dispatcher the location they have cleared us to attend. We will not ask you to stand in traffic while we talk.
Paperwork is the other half of an accident. We regularly work alongside insurers and accident management companies, and we can recover to your chosen garage, salvage yard or storage facility. If you do not know yet where the car should end up, tell the dispatcher. It can go to storage while the claim is sorted and be moved again later.
If airbags have gone off, it is common for the car to go straight to storage or salvage rather than a repairer, because the insurer will want an engineer to see it first. That is a normal outcome and it does not change how carefully the car is loaded.

The price is agreed on the call. You tell us where the car is, what state it is in and where it needs to go, and the figure you are given before the truck sets off is the figure on the invoice. Night and weekend jobs are priced the same way.
Cars, vans and light commercial vehicles are all handled. Tell us early if the vehicle is loaded, lowered, four wheel drive or electric, because each of those changes the loading method and sometimes the truck we send.
